A network security key is the security password that allows you to connect to a WiFi/wireless network. It’s available for all routers and helps protect the WiFi from unauthorized user access. Find Xfinity Router Security Key

You can find the WiFi security key for your Xfinity router in several ways, including:

1- On the Router

Normally, the security key for all WiFi routers, including Xfinity routers, is placed on the rear side of the device. This small barcode sticker includes credentials such as network name and security key, encryption type information, WPS pass key, etc.

If you have your Xfinity Internet installed and want to connect to Xfinity WiFi, you can find the credentials for the network on the back of the router.

2- Through Connected Devices

Another way of finding out the security key to your Xfinity WiFi router is by checking your connected devices. This can only work when you already have devices connected to your Xfinity Internet. Here’s how you can find out the security key on these devices:

For Windows

Click the Windows icon on your Windows desktop.
Head to Settings and then Network & Internet on the left side of the menu.
Scroll down to find Advanced Network Settings.
Within this option, open More Network Adapter Settings.
You’ll see a list of available wireless networks. Click on the one that your device is connected to and select Status.
Open Wireless Properties and head to the Security
- Within the tab, check/ tick the Show Characters This will display the security key of your current network.

For macOS (Keychain Access)

On the Search Function, type Keychain Access.
A (keychain access) screen will pop open. Search for your WiFi and click on it.
Check/ tick the Show Password Box to make the security key visible.

For macOS (macOS Ventura or later)

In the top-left corner, click on the Apple Menu and head to System Settings.
In the sidebar, choose Network and click on WiFi.
In the menu, click Advanced and choose from the list of WiFi networks available.
Click on your desired network and select Copy Password to use it.

For Android

Unlike iOS, you won’t be able to view the WiFi password in plain text. Instead, you can access the WiFi settings and scan the available QR code to join the WiFi network. However, anyone scanning the QR code will join the network too.

For iOS

Head to the Settings and then tap on WiFi.
Within the settings, tap on the i-icon next to a network and click on password.
Use your face or Touch ID to view the WiFi password in plain text.
