If you’ve purchased Spectrum Voice, you can set up your Spectrum voicemail to avail its features. Spectrum voicemail allows you to manage your voicemail, including transcribing, deleting, and accessing deleted messages. If you want to set up your Spectrum voicemail, then follow the guidelines we’ve provided below to set it up successfully.

Setting Up Spectrum Voicemail

Using your Spectrum home phone, you can set up your voicemail using the following steps:

  • Dial *98 from your home phone
  • The setup will prompt you to create your PIN.
  • Record your personal greeting and customize your mailbox options.

Spectrum Voicemail PIN Settings

Here are the PIN settings that you can manage through your Voice Online Manager.

Setting Up Voicemail PIN

During your Spectrum voicemail setup, you can create your 4-digit PIN. You can create it by using:

  • Any sequence of digits
  • Sequential numbers i.e., 4-5 or 8-9
  • Same numbers i.e., 4455 or 6601

Changing Voicemail PIN

To change your Spectrum voicemail PIN:

  • Sign in to your Spectrum voicemail account
  • Choose ‘Manage Phone Features & Check Voicemail.’
  • Go to ‘Settings’
  • Select ‘Edit’ next to ‘Voicemail PIN Settings’
  • Click ‘Voicemail PIN Settings’
  • Moving forward, select ‘Change My Voicemail PIN’
  • Enter your 4-digit PIN
  • Hit ‘Save Changes’ to save the new PIN

Skipping Voicemail PIN

If you wish to skip adding a PIN on your Spectrum voicemail, then here are the steps you can skip it:

  • Sign in to your Spectrum account
  • Head to ‘Manage Phone Features & Check Voicemail.’
  • Choose ‘Settings’
  • You’ll find ‘Voicemail Settings.’ Select ‘Edit’
  • Choose ‘Voicemail PIN Settings’
  • Under the ‘PIN Skip’ option, select the checkbox
  • Select ‘Save Changes’ to save your settings

Using your Voice Online Manager, you can access various options for managing your voicemail. Let’s check them out below:

Deleting Voicemail Messages

You can use this option to delete voicemail messages after listening or delete a selected number of messages.

  • To delete messages after listening, ‘Press 3.’ The next message will play automatically
  • To delete messages from Voice Online Manager:
    • Sign in
    • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice’
    • Then, choose ‘Voicemails’
    • Select the ‘X icon.’
    • To delete multiple messages, select the checkboxes next to the messages you want to delete and press ‘Delete’ in the top section.

Adjust the Number of Rings

By using this option, you can set the number of rings you want your phone to ring before redirecting the incoming calls to your voicemail. By default, Spectrum Voicemail allows 5 rings. To change this setting:

  • Sign in
  • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice.’
  • Select ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Voicemail Settings’
  • Select ‘Number of Rings’
  • You can choose between 3-6 rings.
  • Choose and hit ‘Save’

Receive Readable Voicemail

Spectrum voicemail allows transcribing your voicemails. You can view these transcriptions in the Voice Online Manager. In addition, you can designate up to 5 email addresses to receive your voicemail transcriptions.

Please note that transcriptions are limited to the ‘first 45 seconds’ of your voicemail and only messages received in English or Spanish will be transcribed.

To set up your readable voicemail:

  • Sign in
  • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice.’
  • Select ‘Settings’ and then ‘Readable Voicemail’
  • Select ‘ON’ to turn this option on
  • Add up to 5 valid email addresses, and hit ‘Save’
  • Once done, you’ll receive a confirmation on your mentioned email addresses.
  • Open each inbox and select the ‘Confirm Readable Voicemail Notifications’
  • Once done, you’ll receive a message of activation

To Send Messages from Another Phone

You can also send voice messages from another phone using the following steps:

  • Dial your home phone number (7 digit/ 10 digit)
  • Press * on hearing a voicemail greeting
  • Enter your PIN and press #
  • Press 2 and follow the prompt to send your message

Recording Voicemail Greetings

You can set your voicemail greetings during your voicemail setup or follow the steps below:

  • Sign in
  • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice’
  • Select ‘Settings’ > ‘Voicemail Settings’
  • Choose ‘Voicemail Greetings’ and then ‘Greeting Type’
  • Record your greeting and hit Save

Call Back Option on Spectrum Voicemail

The call-back option on your Spectrum voicemail allows you to return a call. It’s a one-touch option, and you can access it via your phone/ handset.

  • When you access a voicemail message, you’ll hear some options.
  • Press 4 to head to the ‘Reply’ menu
  • Once there, Press 1 to return the call
  • Simply hang up to cancel the call

Note that this option is only available for US calls and not for international calls. You’ll hear a pre-recorded message of error in case the call couldn’t be made. Your caller ID information will also be visible to the person you’re returning the call.

Call Forwarding on Spectrum Voicemail

The call forwarding option allows you to forward one or several calls to a designated number. This can be used in case you’re unavailable to answer the phone. To enable call forwarding:

  • Sign in
  • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice’
  • Select ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Call Handling’
  • Make your changes and hit Save

Note that this option is unavailable for international calls.

Privacy Settings on Spectrum Voicemail

The privacy allows you to set up various options such as DND, accepting selected calls, call blocking, and more. Here’s how you can set it up:

  • Sign in
  • Head to ‘Services,’ select ‘Home Phone,’ and then select ‘Manage Voice’
  • Select ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Privacy’
  • From the list of options, select the features that you want to edit
  • Make your changes and hit Save
